We flew from Amsterdam via Kigali (Rwanda) to Entebbe, Uganda. The next day follows a spectacular domestic flight with a Chesna to Kidepo Airport. On the way we fly over the Victoria Nile, which flows from here to the Jordan!
From Savannah Lodge we make a safari on foot with Ranger Simon and an afternoon jeep safari. The Kidepo Valley National Park is impressively beautiful and it is not touristy in northeastern Uganda.
The next day we travel over endless gravel roads in more than eight hours from Kidepo to Karamoja Safari Camp at the foot of Mount Moroto. During our cultural tour we get to know the local population and their traditional housing. Two brothers steal my heart: so cheerful, playful and pure. They have no mirror and never see themselves. Karamoja Tourism Academy and partners kickstarted the ‘Boost the Employability of Tourism employees in Elgon and Karamoja’ project. 20 ambitious business leaders participated in the first workshop to develop the framework for the 2 years project.

Kara-Tunga hosts EU Ambassadors for 2nd Time In November 2019, Kara-Tunga hosts EU Heads of Mission for the second time in Karamoja and gave them a cultural experience of the Tepeth-tribe living on the foothills of Mount Moroto.
The 25 young women and men are coming from allover the region and have developed 25 new tourist products! They also learned about pricing, marketing, guiding and other practical adventure and community tourism skills.
