After our climb of volcano Mount Kadam we have a rest day from Rafiki Lodge in the village of Sipi. The village is located on the mountainside of Mount Elgon, our next target.
It is wonderful to stay in Rafiki Lodge. Fine lodges, good food, a view of Sipi falls (mighty waterfall) and Miriam is a spontaneous and nice hostess.
On the rest day, Uganda connoisseur Brian takes us to Kapchorwa with our 4×4 van. We shop there, watch how Rolex (= rolled eggs) is baked along the side of the road and visit the running training center located at an altitude of 2,000 meters where many top athletes train. In short, a wonderful rest day ?
Tour operators and trip planners from Mount Rwenzori, Mount Elgon and Karamoja sub-region Warrior Nomad Trail are participating in a workshop “Expedition Planning”.
