Giving travellers the opportunity to make a lasting impact by utilising space in their suitcases to bring equipments or make a donation aimed at supporting job creation for youth.

Guides are frequently ill-equipped for the harsh conditions on the mountain; porters are often seen making the demanding trek without proper footwear or adequate layers. Kara-Tunga operates an equipment lending programme for the guides and porters who cannot afford the proper equipment themselves.

Guides exchange programme
We believe in rewarding outstanding customer care and service. Every year we show our appreciation by selecting one of our local guides to take on an expedition somewhere else. They get to immerse themselves in another culture and bring home their new knowledge and experiences.
Financial support
The programme depends on donations and grants to help fund our free programs for uplifting youth. Donations are made through our nonprofit organization, Kara-Tunga Foundation.
Donate equipment
Clothing and equipment donations are encouraged to support our free clothing lending program for guides. The most affordable way to bring the gear is by utilising extra space in your own suitcase or from other travellers.
