This week we officially kickstarted the skilling of 75 youth from Karamoja in hospitality, tourism and site guiding.
Uganda is one of world’s youngest countries and is facing a huge challenge with its unemployed youth. On the contrary, there’s a lack of skilled staff in the tourism and hospitality sector in the country.
As Karamoja Tourism Academy, we aim at bridging the gap through skilling our youth from Karamoja and matching them with job opportunities through work-based learning program.

Granite Rock ‘Ruoth’ in Abim offers Uganda’s best Climbing – The Ruth rock nicknamed ‘Chief’, is called one of Uganda’s most impressive rock features with some of the best climbing found in Uganda. Though climbed by only a few frontiers with the first found record in 1957.
The Warrior Nomad Trail is developed to inspire tourists to travel beyond the usual wildlife attractions in East Africa. The Trail Pass is a personal souvenir with key travel information, tips on things to do and a document to capture memorable moments on your adventure.

The project is a collaboration between EyeOpenerWorks and Ukarimu Academy and implemented by Matany Girls Vocational School and Karamoja Tourism Academy with Uganda Safari Guides Association.
