Mount Kadam is the second highest mountain of the Karamoja region in northeaster Uganda with the highest peak called Libo. The mountain also comprises of five tribes that is to say: Pokot, Karamojong, Gishu, Sebei and the Kadama.
Some of the Abore tribes like the Pokot and Sebei are also found in Kenya and they are majorly agriculturalist (Farmers) compared to the Tepeth living on top of Mt Moroto who are mixed farmers.
There is also a different that the Pokot and the Sebei people do seummise girls and boys as one of their strong and compulsary cultural belief compared to other tribes.
All the above tribes are headed by one local council leader called Ariwonyang Lochaigura who also contributed to the promotion and fighting for peace of the Kadama people who are also living into four settlements site called: Pepel, Xlalupat, Pepel 1, Pepel 2 and Aratan. All having a total number of 315 people from different tribes from bot Kenya and Uganda.
The main crops grown on Mount Kadam are maize, beans, sun flower and wild tomatoes. The biggest challenges faced by the inhabitants are food insecurity due climate change and stealing baboons, no access to healthcare and lack of agricultural tools.
