Uganda Wilderness Bicycle Challenge

The Tour of Karamoja is Uganda’s ultimate wilderness bike tradition taking place in northeastern Karamojaland. The tour aims at tourism for sustainable development and fundraising for girl child education.

The journey starts on the lower savannah plains in Pian Upe Wildlife Reserve and curls through the woodlands in West Pokot onto the rolling hills of the East African Rift down into the award-winning Kidepo Valley National Park

The 563 Km route with a 5,970m elevation is divided into 7 unique stages of mixed length and difficulty. The trail is a mix of rocky cattle paths, loose and hard-packed gravel and single tracks. The final 7th day of the event is an awarding cycling safari through the national park.

Day 1: Drive to Pian Upe Wildlife Reserve
Day 2-8: Bicycle Challenge
Day 9: Bicycle safari in Kidepo Valley National Park
Day 10: Transfer to Entebbe / Kampala + Night in Via Via Guesthouse, Entebbe

Price

The below ticket price includes 2 days of park entry fees, camping equipment and shared accommodation. Lazy camping is obligatory for 5 nights, the other 2 nights are spent in a safari lodge.
