Uganda Wilderness Bicycle Challenge

The Tour of Karamoja is Uganda’s ultimate wilderness bike tradition taking place in the northeastern Karamojaland. The tour aims at tourism for sustainable development and fundraising for girl child education.

The journey starts on the lower savannah plains in Pian Upe Wildlife Reserve and curls through the woodlands in West Pokot onto the rolling hills of the East African Rift down into the award-winning Kidepo Valley National Park

The 500 Km route with 5,000m elevation is divided into 6 unique stages of mixed length and difficulty. The trail is a mix of rocky cattle paths, loose and hard packed gravel and single tracks. The final 7th day of the event is an awarding cycling safari through the national park.

Price

Below ticket price includes 2 days park entry fees, bicycle, camping equipment and accommodation. Camping is obligatory for 3 nights, the other 5 nights are spent in guesthouses, hotels and safari lodges. Find below prices per person, based on amount of total guests:

Ride 4 Girl Child

The tour aims at raising funds to offer life changing education for at least one class of 15 girls at Matany Girl’s Vocational School Change a life of one girl by sponsoring €500 for a full vocational training course including an internship and career coaching. The tour will follow ‘The Warrior Nomad Trail‘ starting in Southern Karamoja land and ending in Africa’s most applauded awarded national park ‘Kidepo Valley National Park’.
