Sensitising Karamoja Communities on Tourism – Kara-Tunga aims at making Karamoja a must visit destination with people at its centre. It therefore embarked on a journey through the region to sensitise 17 community tourism groups (600 members) along Karamoja’s Warrior Nomad Trail.
The communities were sensitised about the looming tourism opportunity and the need to embrace training programs, preserve our cultural heritage and biodiversity, foster peaceful coexistence, as well as diversify their tourism products to increase their incomes.

The highly anticipated road constructions connecting Kenya to South Sudan through Turkana county is coming to an end. The locals of Kakuma town in Turkana county are excited about the development that will drastically increase their mobility and connection to neighbouring countries.
Kara-Tunga gave a Digital Marketing Workshop to 25 Ugandan Tourism Startups as part of their Tourism Entrepreneurs Training facilitated by the Karamoja Tourism Academy and utilising the UKARIMU Academy curriculum.
The first group of Karamoja regional hiking guides have successfully completed the hiking guiding training by Bergwandelen.com in collaboration with Karamoja Tourism Academy. It was an eyeopening experience for both the participants and the facilitators, hiking the two highest mountain ranges (Mt Kadam and Mt Moroto) in Karamojaland.
