The ‘Mount Moroto Lia Parish Community Association‘ is created with the help of Kara-Tunga and aimed at bridging the gap between the host community and the tourist. The community is able to run and fund their own projects through the association and the contribution of clients of Kara-Tunga.
The enrolment of children to Primary school has been problematic and the association therefore aims at positively impacting the image of education through sensitisation and increasing the attendance by providing scholastic materials.
We had the privilege to have connected with the Belgium trainer in Connecting / Non-Violent Communication called Marijke D’Herde (Walk Your Talk). Marijke has a great passion in sharing the knowledge and resources she receives in the North (Western world) in order to share it with the South (Africa).

(Read the article) One of our objectives is to preserve Karimojong Cultural Heritage through tourism and in collaboration with likeminded organisations. Therefore we partnered up with Miss Tourism Karamoja to contribute in enhancing the knowledge on culture of our future tourism ambassadors.
