“The main staple food of the Karamojong pastoralists in Uganda, is the highly nutritious cereal grain sorghum. In their homesteads, they store what they grow in granaries for up to three years. There is one main meal of the day, which is served after sunset. Most of time it will be “atapa”, a stiff porridge out of sorghum, served with bush greens and groundnut paste. Exploring Lake Turkana for the Warrior Nomad Trail – Dutch Photographer Jesse Simonis and Kara-Tunga travelled to the west of Lake Turkana in Northern Kenya to explore possibilities of including worlds largest desert lake on the Warrior Nomad Trail map.
Early April 2018 we hosted we had the pleasure to host the renown Belgium outdoor travel journalist ‘Jonathan Vandevoorde’ in northeast Uganda aimed at producing several publications in Belgium-Dutch newspapers and magazines.
