Human Rights in Tourism: “In conflict-stricken destinations, the indigenous communities are hungry for development but unaware of the risks of tourism. Tour operators/development partners must recognise inequality and invest in building their capacity to have a universal voice for making decisions and setting limits. We create a platform for dialogue with the host communities, as trust and frequent dialogue are key for sustainable relationships, extending to operators, agents and travellers.”

Since tourism in Uganda’s Karamoja sub-region is still in its infancy, it is incredibly important to raise awareness and set expectations and guidelines now.
