Human Rights in Tourism: “In conflict-stricken destinations, the indigenous communities are hungry for development but unaware of the risks of tourism. Tour operators/development partners must recognise inequality and invest in building their capacity to have a universal voice for making decisions and setting limits. We create a platform for dialogue with the host communities, as trust and frequent dialogue are key for sustainable relationships, extending to operators, agents and travellers.”
Sustainable tourism is no longer enough…
The people of Karamoja have embraced regenerative tourism to create a better world through travel. Since tourism in Uganda’s Karamoja sub-region is still in its infancy, it is incredibly important to raise awareness and set expectations and guidelines now.
