As Karamoja’s popularity as a tourist destination grows, it’s crucial for tour operators and site guides to offer authentic and enriching experiences while safeguarding our cultural identity.
This workshop marked the beginning of an initiative to build a team of cultural heritage custodians and trainers, enriching tourism products and preserving our invaluable heritage. Join us in supporting sustainable cultural tourism development in Karamoja!
Dutch hiking tour company Bergwandelen.com and expedition leader Jan Bakker will train a selection of hiking guides from various mountain ranges located in Uganda’s Karamoja sub-region, Kenya and South Sudan on the Warrior Nomad Trail. and have mobilised their network to donate hiking equipment.
