We decided to check in with Kautakou, one of the communities we collaborate with, to hear their perspective on our shared journey.
This community along with many other communities, has graciously opened their homes to travelers from around the world. Witnessing the tangible, positive impact on their livelihoods is truly heartwarming and something you can experience firsthand when you visit.

The potential of tourism in Uganda is enormous. The ‘Pearl of Africa’ is famous for its gorilla’s and chimpanzees, but has much more to offer. Dutch hiking tour company Bergwandelen.com and expedition leader Jan Bakker will train a selection of hiking guides from various mountain ranges located in Uganda’s Karamoja sub-region, Kenya and South Sudan on the Warrior Nomad Trail. and have mobilised their network to donate hiking equipment.
