The Pearl International Film Festival (PIFF), returning after a one-year hiatus, concluded its tenth edition in style with an awards gala at Theatre La Bonita in Kampala on November 25, 2023.
The festival director disclosed that during the judging process, his team considered various aspects such as picture quality, texture, movement, creativity, originality, sound composition, and overall quality.
Ateker Documentary
The docu shares a moving journey across borders to reunite the Ateker people of Karamoja in Uganda with those in South Sudan. A journey of creating unity and sharing opportunities to prosper as one people.
The Ateker, a diverse group with a shared ancestry dating back 1,000 years in the Karamoja region of Uganda, have established communities across Uganda, Kenya, South Sudan, and Ethiopia. Despite geographical dispersion, they maintain strong cultural ties through shared practices, traditions, and language. While facing various challenges, their sense of identity and community remains powerful.
