We are incredible grateful to be able to host 50 Ugandan Tourism Startups to Visit Karamoja and share the value of Social Entrepreneurship for their businesses.
We are looking forward to bring such a program to Karamoja and the greater Warrior Nomad Trail and support regional tourism startups with the skills, knowledge and exposure towards a sustainable regional community-lead tourism sector.
Lois Nanono (Program Coordinator · Stanbic Business Incubator Limited) – “During the visit, I discovered that this is one of the regions with the richest culture. The Karamajong are developed, extremely receptive, and intelligent people. They have used their challenges to foster new opportunities. This was the foundation of Kara-Tunga, one of the leading tour companies in Karamoja which supports community development.”Great appreciation to our friends of Ambassade de France en Ouganda – Embassy of France in Uganda and Stanbic Bank – Uganda Business Incubator.
This is an amazingly fun Belgian television series for children showing how people in the world live with animals. For this 16 episode series, our favourite Belgian musician/presenter Arne Vanhaecke, visited different homesteads and kraals in Karamoja. The series is produced by VTM Kzoom in collaboration with Veterinarians Without Borders Belgium. View all episodes here:
Robin Y, Nov 2022 – Kara-Tunga is one of the most unique experiences i have had. So different from the rest of Uganda, at the top of the Mountains on the Kenya-Uganda escarpment, the views are breath taking.
We’re happy to announce that we’re proud partners of Cross Cultural Foundation Uganda (CCFU) Cultural Heritage Education Programme in the Karamoja region.
Gabriel Gersch supports development Uganda’s Warrior Nomad Trail – Gabriel has a special connection with the wilderness and especially Karamoja. Seven years ago, it’s believed that he was the first modern-day adventurer to walk the full length of Karamojaland in 100 years. He is therefore the perfect person to help develop the long-distance walking trail.
