Consequently, apiculture as a highly potential business has not yet been widely adopted, despite its proven potential to incentivize environmental conservation and generate crucial alternative income streams for the community.
Establishing a Honey Centre in Moroto
Recognizing this potential, Kara-Tunga Foundation, through its Karamoja Conservation Zones Initiative, it will establish a vital regional Kara-Tunga Honey Centre right here in Moroto town. This effort directly addresses the challenges hindering the growth of the honey value chain Karamoja Uganda.
Kara-Tunga Foundation has already built a strong network of 200 dedicated farmers and extends its commitment to working with all beekeepers across the region. Kara-Tunga aims not only improve livelihoods but also to foster the production of high-quality and sustainable honey from the Karamoja region.
