Kara-Tunga Tours and Mountain Slayers Uganda have partnered to organise the first-of-its-kind Karamoja 3 Mountains Challenge 6 Days (3 Peaks • 69 Km • 5,442 m elevation).
From November 17th to 22nd, 2023, participants will tackle three of the least-climbed peaks in Uganda: Mount Kadam, Mount Moroto, and Mount Napak. This challenge is perfect for experienced hikers who are looking for an off-the-beaten-path adventure.
The mountains of Karamoja are an exciting alternative to the more strenuous climbs in East Africa with many of the same attractions, a milder climate, lower elevation, and requiring no special equipment or technical experience.
Different from other mountains in Uganda, these mountains are still inhabited by indigenous communities, which adds a unique cultural experience to the challenge.
UWA recently embarked on the refurbishment and construction of accommodation facilities in Karamoja game reserves such as Matheniko and Pian Upe to enhance tourism in the region.
We at Kara-Tunga are thrilled to announce that we’ve been featured on the prestigious CBI website as a Best Practice for Socio-Cultural Preservation in the tourism sector.
Art and Film changing Karamoja: Native Travel Festival and Kara-Tunga Arts & Tours are positively changing the image of Karamoja (northeast Uganda) through Art and Film.
