Climate change and rising food prices are affecting the most vulnerable in our region, especially the elderly and young children.
We are therefore grateful that tourism connects us with well-wishers like the ‘Apar foundation‘ and Shanta Patel Rabadiya. They supported 200 needy families with medical checkup, food and clothes.
We will continue to advocate for our partner communities through the Kara-Tunga Foundation for sustainable solutions through ecotourism and conservation.
Kara-Tunga Foundation – under the Karamoja Conservation Zones initiative – has trained farmers in Moroto and Nakapiripirit District in the basics of beekeeping. The training prepares farmers to manage beehives which will be placed in the Conservation Zones.
The potential of tourism in Uganda is enormous. The ‘Pearl of Africa’ is famous for its gorilla’s and chimpanzees, but has much more to offer. The active tourist can go hiking, mountaineering and mountain biking. The cultural tourist will be amazed by the numerous local traditions, customs, arts & crafts.
