So energised after finally meeting Giorgio Andrian together with Catholic Diocese Moroto who are spearheading the designation process of Matheniko Wildlife Reserve and Mount Moroto into UNESCO Man and Biosphere Reserve.
This international recognition will help to reinforce community-led development, sustainable mining practices and conservation of these cultural and environmental important areas for future generations.
The team recognised Kara-Tunga, Karamoja Tours and our initiatives as key-players in the landscape and I’m looking forward to support the initiative with Kara-Tunga Foundation.

Germany’s renown GEO Saison Magazine has published an insightful eight page article on sustainable community based tourism in Karamoja. A story of how Kara-Tunga Tours and Kara-Tunga Foundation are changing the old narrative of traditional wildlife safari in Uganda.
Tour operators among other stakeholders in Uganda and Ethiopia have been urged to promote tourism products and services in both countries as a single destination. This development will greatly improve the freedom of movement between the countries and Kara-Tunga’s initiative for cross-border tourism development in the region.
