Writer Eric Mukalazi documented Uganda’s legendary Tour of Karamoja and made a book to share East Africa’s truly unique event in pictures and words.

The Tour of Karamoja Event

Once a year, in the heart of East Africa, a group of adventurous souls embark on a remarkable journey called the Tour of Karamoja. Riders, hailing from diverse backgrounds, share a common dream: to cycle 7 days, 563 kilometres across the rugged terrain of Karamoja in northern Uganda and Turkana in northern Kenya. Their mission is not just a physical challenge; it is a quest for unity, understanding, cultural enrichment and a fundraiser for girlchild education.
