COVID-19 Policy

In order to attend Tour of Karamoja, all attendees including registered participants, sponsors, vendors, volunteers, staff, and friends/family are required to present proof of COVID vaccination or a negative test result taken within 72 hours of starting day. Please see details below:
In order to participate in the Tour of Karamoja in any capacity (registered participants, sponsors, vendors, volunteers, staff, friends/family), you must pass a COVID-19 Safety Check by providing:

  • A state issued ID or passport plus one of the following:
    • Official COVID-19 vaccination certification (vaccination, must have been received at least two weeks before race day – no later than April 1, 2022); or
    • A negative COVID-19 test result from within three days of race day (test must be administered between May 13-15, 2022; test results must be officially documented from the testing agency; results from self-administered tests will NOT be accepted).

  • The COVID-19 Safety Check will be located at the registration desk.

  • If you do not present the proof of vaccination or negative test result, we cannot allow you to participate in the event in any capacity unfortunately.
Registered riders who fail to provide proof of vaccination or negative test will not be permitted to check in, pick up their packets, or participate in the event and will not be eligible for a refund.

  • Once you have cleared the Safety Check by showing the appropriate documents, you will be given a wristband to wear throughout the weekend so that other participants know that you have been checked.

  • If you see somebody at the event venue without a wristband, that means they are not officially part of Tour of Karamoja and have not been checked. You can choose to keep your distance.

An inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19 exists in any public space where people are present. By attending Tour of Karamoja, you expressly agree to comply with any and all policies and safety guidelines put in place by the event organizers, and voluntarily assume all risks related to exposure to COVID-19, waiving all claims and potential claims against the event organizers, and their affiliated companies relating to such risks.

Tour of Karamoja reserves the right to modify the COVID-19 safety guidelines. Depending on local guidelines at the time of the event and the current rate of COVID spread, it is possible that masks will be expected to be worn indoors, at packet pickup, at the mass start, or when social distancing is not possible.

Health Protocols During the Event

The Tour of Karamoja has come up with different rules that are mandatory in order to make the event a safer and more enjoyable experience for everyone.

It is very important that these rules are followed by each individual in order to stop the spread of the virus, having the green light to execute the event and most importantly, for the safety of everyone.

Please follow these new rules at all times:

  • Keep 1m distance with other riders
  • Mandatory to wear a mask in the village and confined spaces
  • Hand sanitisers will be located around the event village and hotels
  • Please disinfect your hands as much as possible
  • We also ask that each rider brings enough masks and disinfecting tubes as we will not be able to provide these for every rider.

If you have any questions or concerns about this policy, we would be happy to discuss it further with you. Please contact us. We thank you for your cooperation to ensure the safety of our community and participants.
