There are many things people don’t know about Paul Sherwen. Many in the cycling world don’t know about his life in Africa and his work with Bicycles for Humanity, the Ugandan Karamoja area and animal conservation. Most people in Africa have no idea of his status in Europe, America and Australia.
2016 was not the first time that Theo Vos had traveled to Karamoja. It was the first time that he felt brave enough to travel around and sleep with warriors in the bush, and explore the mountains freely by feet, motor bikes and cars without security.
We have come from far… tourism is positively changing the image of Karamoja and we hope that this collaboration with Uganda Tourism Board, NBS Television, NTV, UBC, can inspire tourism professionals and local communities to embrace Community Tourism in Karamoja as opportunity for inclusive development.
